The robmax Advisory Board serves to develop and enhance both the technology and business relationships for automation efficiency and simulation in key industries (automotive, general manufacturing, electronics, renewable energy).
Its members share a common enthusiasm for advancing manufacturing competitiveness for companies and senior managements determined to be at the leading edge of the “lean” movement as well as their business profitability. Our Advisory Board Members: Ron Billings Partner and CEO of Fluid Analysis for Balancing Queues, which develops software for factory scheduling and dispatching. Also, Instructor in the Department of Mathematics at Oregon State University. Formerly Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech's School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. His teaching and research was in the area of manufacturing operations. Before going to Georgia Tech, he worked as an engineer in the semiconductor industry for a dozen years. Other organizations in which Dr. Billings has served include the University of Texas at Austin, Concordia University at Austin, the United States Air Force, and the United States Army. Hartmut Hitz Managing Director with EngineerConcepts Beratung GmbH&Co.KG; Process optimimization in Logistics and production. He was Principal and Executive Account Manager with Cap Gemini Ernest&Young. His main tasks were in esteblishment and development of automotive practice in Europe and US. Before this assignment, Hartmut Hitz was CIO with GM Europe and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. In the area of research and technology were his areas of expertise with Daimler-Benz AG was the complexity management of product variants in production and logistics. Residence - Dettenhausen, Stuttgart area, Germany Dr. Jeff Gray Dr. Jeff Gray is an Assosiate Professor in the Department of Computer Science (College of Engineering) at the University of Alabama. Jeff is a recipient of the 2006 CAREER award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and is the 2008 Alabama Professor of the Year (as named by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching). Jeff's research focus is in software engineering, with a specialty in model-driven engineering to enable automation by end-users. In these areas, he has published over 220 articles in journals, books, and conferences. His research has received funding from DARPA (2), NSF (9), Google (2), IBM, and the Department of Education. In addition to his research, Jeff has a passion for teaching young children about technology and offers summer camps, robotics competitions, and teacher training workshops. He was recently invited by the College Board to lead one of 10 Pilot sites to design a new AP course. He has worked previously at UAB, Vanderbilt's Institute for Software Integrated Systems, and IBM's TJ Watson Research Center. Education
